Session 2008 starts

After a very busy 2007 session, and a well deserved break, the 3rd are now back up and running for the 2008 session.

Last year saw the Company section move from the Wellington Academy, which was being mothballed and taking up new residence in the Highlanders Academy just along the road.

The 2008 session continues in our new home, and we have adjusted to the change well. We lost a Gym in the move but gained valuable space where classes can now be better taught.

Coffee Morning Saturday 24th March 2007.

3rd Greenock held our annual coffee morning in aid of company funds in the halls of the Mount Kirk. The weather outside helped the cause as it turned out to be a lovely Spring day, a rarity in these parts.

And with a steady stream of customers for a cuppa and a pancake coming in through the doors, the halls remained full for nearly all of the two hours planned for the event.

As in past years, the stall selling cake, candy and other edibles was straining under the weight of the multitude of items of home baking donated to the company by parents and friends. While nearby some of our boys manned the Tuck shop stall catering for different tastes.

And going by the chatter that came from the hall, the get together worked well with a right old chin wag being interrupted only by the slurping of tea and scoffing of some very inviting pancakes.

At the end of the event, Robert Love, our Captain thanked all our helpers and presented each a gift box of chocolates.

They helped in the kitchen; preparing the tea; then serving it to our guests, while upstairs in the small hall was a production line, fit to grace any professional manufacturing outfit, that churned out hot pancakes by the tray load mading the event the success that it was.

Many Thanks Again to all those who helped us raise over £500 towards our much needed funds.
