Coffee Morning 2005
The 3rd Greenock's Coffee Morning brews up another winner!
April 16th, saw the Company hold the latest fundraising Coffee Morning. As in previous years, the venue was the halls of the Mount Kirk. The weather played it's part, with a cloudy day threatening to reduce the turnout, but after a slow start the pace picked up and by 10:30am things were in full flow. Once again our patented mouth watering "Aroma of Pancake", all freshly made, wafted out of the church hall and acted like a magnet on the unsuspecting passers by.
The 2005 Pancake Team.
The doormen, "I Am Carlton. Inc", assured that our guests made the journey through the entrance hallway to the tea and cakes, but in reality all the guests could have done this by scent alone. the smell of fresh baking and coffee firing broadsides.
Some very dodgy looking Bouncers.
In the Session house, the Mecca for tea gennies, was as always running like a world class production line. Tea and coffee pouring out by the bucketful.
The Kitchen Team urns a few bob.
Travel Agents.. or is it Flamenco Dancing practice?!
Ours Guests continued to arrive throughout until the close at 12am and the cake and candy stall continued to supply more goodies throughout the morning, and by closure had clean counters.
Guests enjoy a natter.
While others bring their own supplies, after all tea is not everything.
Out Tuck-shop squad of diligent, active and highly motivated Company Section NCOs ran this, although this particular image must have been taken during one of their rare rest periods.
The revved up and ready to go Tuck-shop squad.
The Tuck-shop squad was not the only ones taking a break, as Captain Love practices his unique standing up sleep routine.
This year the Coffee morning managed to raise over £450 pounds.
3rd Greenock wishes to thank all our helpers, friends, parents and the people of the Mount Kirk for ensuring that once again, a very rewarding Coffee morning was the outcome of the day.
