Centenary Badge Design

It has to be said, the 3rd Greenock takes some beating when it comes to designing Commemorative Centenary badges.

In one year, we designed 2 such unique items, one for our own Company Centenary Celebrations in 1997, and the other was for the Greenock Battalion Centenary the following year.

The question has to be asked, "when are we designing the next Centenary badge???"

The 3rd Greenock Badge

The first of these two centenary badges was designed for our own Centenary, and is shown here.

Greenock Battalion Centenary Badge

This commemorative badge was designed by our own James Lowles, who's winning design was chosen at the end of a hotly contested competition set by the Greenock Battalion.

This badge would be amongst the last items to carry the name "Greenock Battalion", and was superseded as the "Inverclyde and District Battalion" shortly afterwards.

NOTE: This picture is of one of the three versions of this badge, and on this version you can see that it does not have the two "B"s either side of the anchor.
